‘Abd al-Husayn Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk (Taymurtash)'s letter to Surur al-Saltanah, writing about the relationships of men and women in Europe, that Iranian men dismiss their own wives and look for love and pleasure outside of their marriage while it is different in Europe, as men and women love each other and they prefer to spend their time with each other rather than with others. However, this is not Iranians' fault either, as they sometime are married when they are five or six, without their personal choice. He then thanks God that Surur is a perfect mate and says that he truly loves her....

Marriage Contract of Surur al-Saltanah and Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk, 1909
Marriage Contract of Sughra Khanum Surur al-Saltanah, daughter of Khazin al-Mulk, and ‘Abd al-Husayn Khan Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk, son of Karim Dad Khan Salar. Mahr is a copy of the Qurʼan (valued at 100 tumans), a female slave (value of 70 tumans), and one thousand and five hundred tumans cash (that was presented), as well as some properties including the related water creeks, trees, and gardens in exchange for three thousand and five hundred tumans. The above was first deeded to the groom by his father and then, the groom included it in the Mahr for his wife.

Love letters of ‘Abd al-Husayn Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk (Taymurtash), son of Karim Dad Khan, to Surur al-Saltanah, daughter of Zarrin Kulah Khanum and Khazin al-Mulk, accompanied by some envelopes and part of a letter, probably from Surur al-Saltanah to Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk.
